Pick two nations and the report compares them across six team measures: Attack, Midfield and Defence rate the quality of each line; Experience reflects tournament pedigree and caps; Depth judges how far the quality runs beyond the first eleven; and Form captures how the side is playing right now. A team can win a group on depth and form as easily as on raw talent, which is why all six matter.
Below that, the report goes player by player. Each key man is rated for Threat (goal danger), Craft (creativity and passing), Defence (defensive work) and Big-game temperament. Goalkeepers are judged separately on Shot-stopping, Command of their box, Distribution and big-game nerve — because tournaments are so often decided by the keeper.
Knockout football is also shaped by where and how a match is played. The report shows the venue, its altitude or roof, and a weather forecast for kick-off — heat, humidity and altitude all blunt high-pressing teams in particular. It also lists the appointed referee where confirmed; FIFA names officials roughly 48 hours before kick-off.
